Bangkok Day 3

Did I mentioned that I googled for best food near Pratunam area and "the best wanton mee in Bangkok" popped out?! On my second day we actually went all the way to this restaurant but it was closed for 2 days. So we came back on the stated date open for business. We took tuk tuk there and in fact not many locals know about this wanton mee place. Only tourists do. So happy when we saw the shop is open.

But again we gotta queue for like 20 mins to get our seat.

The pork leg rice

Wanton mee stall. The two famous food served in this restaurant

We ordered 1 pork leg rice and 2 wanton mee.

Looking back at this wanton mee pic makes me hungry again. At first we ordered one bowl each. I could say the portion is quite small actually and it's like half of the wanton mee in malaysia. It was too delicious! I didnt had enough of it and in the end we decided to order another bowl to share. It is delicious because they added chu yau char (fried pork rinds) to the noodles. Seriously sedap! Cant find such nice wanton mee in Malaysia.

Then we took cab to Chatuchak Market. According to my colleagues and some blogs, there are lots of clothes to buy and it's really cheap. So I decided to shop there since I havent been buying anything since the first day. The cab dropped us at dont know which entrance and we just got down after taking our nap in the cab.

I took the map and realized there's so many entrance and there actually have certain section for clothes. The weather was super hot. We asked the information counter and they directed us to the clothes section. We walked all the way in and out of the maze (yes maze coz it's too huge and they have a lot of lorongs)

Found the coconut ice-cream stall.

We decided to curi curi cut queue but dare not..lol! In the end we gotta queue again. Basically every nice food in bkk you gotta queue for it.

A chiobu in front of us.

Quite panic when it's our turn coz the man will ask,"choose 2!" and you gotta be quick. I couldnt make up my mind and just simply pick 2 choices

Free coconut juice too!

The coconut ice-cream taste normal to me, maybe because it's quite sweet and I dont really like sweet stuffs. But basically everyone will go to this coconut ice-cream in Chatuchak.

Next stop - back to hotel to sleep. Tak boleh tahan the super hot weather!

At night we had dinner with my uncle, who has been staying in bkk for more than 10 years. He brought us to this seafood place where the locals usually go to. Tourists hardly will go all the way to this place coz it's quite far from the town area.

All the high cholesterol food. Hahah!

He ordered the sticky mango rice for us to try. I could say this is the best I've tried coz the sticky rice is soft and tasty. Unlike most of the sticky rice which are quite hard.

After dinner, he brought us to CDC for yam cha. I was so shy hiding away behind the bf all the time. This hang out area is so classy and you can see those pretty thai girls hanging out there dining and drinking. Ahh so malu coz I only wear a tee and shorts, I thought we will only go for dinner then back to hotel.

Nice environment huh??

Bangkok Day 2

Ok i'm the happiest on the second day of my trip. you will know why later.

suddenly couldnt recall and where to start.

oh ya early morning we woke up and get ready to go for the best wanton mee in bangkok. so from our hotel we couldnt get tuk tuk or taxi, we decided to walk to platinum mall since the wanton mee is just opposite platinum mall. we walked and walked and its like so far but we were already halfway there. no choice but to continue walking all the way there. when we reached at the stall, it was closed for 2 days! damn emo. imagine walking for like 15 mins (maybe 3km) and couldnt get what you want.

we ate at the stall next to it. just some normal beehoon soup.

then we took taxi to siam paragon. most of the luxury brands there. i can only do window shopping. save everything for year end europe trip.

passed by the toys section and we awarded ourself the best husband and best wife award. hahaha syiok sendiri time.

i told him we should've award each other as "best boyfriend" and "best girlfriend" but not husband and wife yet coz we are newly wed! still a long journey to judge whether we can get the best husband and wife award..lol!

but yes..i awarded him as the best boyfriend for the past 7 years! you did a great job dear! muax

our lunch for the day is AFTER YOU DESSERTS!

the most raved after desserts in bangkok i guess. everything goes to this place for their famous toasts.

the queue was super long! maybe because the shop is quite small?

while waiting, i tried the hokkaido fresh milk. i saw a girl who bought like 20 bottles of this fresh milk! being influenced by her. i even asked her which flavour is nice coz there's so many choices like green tea, original flavour, cappuccino, belgium chocolate, banana and many more. they also sell fresh yogurt or yogurt drink. she told me the banana fresh milk is nice, so i tried one.

and its quite good! i cant say very good coz im not a big fan of fresh milk..hahah

here comes our toasts - their signature honey vanilla toast and french toast

the right way to order is actually to select one toast and one desserts. but i didnt want desserts so i choose both toasts. its really good! the outer layer of the toast is crispy and the inner part is super soft! *thumbs up*

next we walked to...oh no i cant remember whats the name of this mall. its just beside siam paragon.

somtam time! we walked into this shop for somtam only. in need of some sour and spicy desserts..lol!

the ice lemon tea is good as in it's so sour and good for fast digestion. look at his face!

we went to terminal21 shopping mall. i was excited because chungkei told me the clothes there are better quality than in platinum mall. to my surprise the dresses there are better quality and of course the price are sky high! its even more pricy than topshop dresses, at least 2500baht and above. i didnt buy any. might as well i get from miss selfridge or topshop. had coffee session with hubby (ahem first time describing him as hubby..let me get used to it coz i still prefer the boyf all the time, lol) and then we headed back to siam square for dinner with my colleagues.

queue again at somtam nua for dinner

after dinner my colleague brought us for desserts at mango tango. another nice place for desserts. to me it's something like hui lau shan in kl.

late night shopping at asiatique

we took the tourist boat to asiatique although you can go there by cab. my colleague wants us to experience the chao phraya river by boat.

yes i would say it's a good place for shopping. the upgraded version of chatuchak market. too bad it was bloody hot when we were there. not in mood to shop in sweaty condition. i only managed to grab a maxi dress from one of the shop.

naraya have their branch there as well. and to my surprise people grabs the bags as if they're free! especially tourists from china. the queue at the cashier is crazy. i realized naraya is becoming a famous brand now. i remember 5 years back its just one of the stalls in shopping malls. now you can even find naraya in the venetian! acc to my colleague, the bags are quite cheap and the quality is good. i had one make up pouch from naraya bought like 7 years ago. maybe i shall dig it out..lol!

it's all about food day!
